Caleta de Fuste and Area
 Caleta de Fuste and its surrounding area is located approximately a third of the way down the east coast of Fuerteventura. The area is privileged to have the only golf course on the island just outside the resort. The beautiful, championship 18 hole course has a five star hotel on site and is surrounded by luxurious holiday villas, many of which can be rented through Premier Holidays. To the north is the capital Puerto del Rosario and the islands airport.A twenty minute drive north takes you to the start of the world famous, breathtaking, white sand Dune beaches.Inland there are several small villages dotted around the countryside making a tranquil, country setting in the fairly barren landscape.
The ancient capital, Betancuria, founded in 1405 is a lovely, small town well worth a visit. It has an archaeological and a craft museum, a lovely church and the Casa Santa Maria, where visitors can watch local artists at work and buy their products. On the way to Betancuria you pass the beautiful, sleepy village of Antigua, one of the oldest on the island, with a beautiful church and a restored windmill.
Caleta de Fuste Caleta de Fuste is a modern holiday resort, which is rapidly becoming known for the quality and variety of services that have recently been added. A resort which is fast on its way to becoming the most sophisticated in Fuerteventura. Also known locally as El Castillo, it has been built around its charming, picturesque, harbour area with a selection of restaurants and bars from where you can watch the boats come and go. Many marine excursions leave from here, including a Catamaran cruise, submarine and glass bottomed boat. The centre of the resort has a beautiful, horse-shoe shaped beach, which is perfect for children as it is calm and gently sloping. Excellent sporting facilities are available, with diving and wind surfing centres located on the beach. The weekly Saturday market is a perfect place for souvenir and craft shopping and there are many, varied shops in the centre. A few minutes' walk along a new promenade leads to two lagoon beaches, several new hotels and a new shopping and entertainment centre with a choice of restaurants, a large supermarket and a bowling alley.
