Denia and Area

Denia and Area Villas
Dénia lies on the Costa Blanca and is situated between sea and mountain, sheltered by Mount Montgó and by the Mediterranean Sea and next to the Cape of Sant Antoni. Dénia breathes the sea air, smells of orange blossoms, Mediterranean flora, and nature. The Mont Montgó Natural Park was officially declared as such in 1987 and offers a beautiful destination to those holidaymakers wanting a day away from the beach.

Mount Montgó extends forming the impressive Cape of San Antonio, which reaches the sea forming a 160 metre high cliff. At the feet of the cape, there is the Cape of San Antonio Natural Reserve another beautiful excursion destination. To the north is the area known as Les Marines where you will find long sandy beaches. To the south is the area known as Les Routes that starts with a sandy beach and gives way to rocky coves, both colourful and hidden, display a crystalline landscape of unique beauty. These beaches and those in Dénia have been awarded with the Blue Flag, a symbol of the clean seas of Europe. All of this combines to give the holidaymaker staying in one of our beautiful villas or apartments a holiday to remember.

Denia

Dénia, on the Spanish Costa Blanca, is a relaxed family resort dotted with colourful villas and blessed with 16 kilometres of long sandy beaches. With an average annual temperature of 20°C throughout the year, many holidaymakers from all over the World and from Spain itself choose this resort. All of these beaches have the Blue Flag Award for cleanliness and many are wheelchair accessible. A variety of activities on offer in this maritime enclave includes a tour around the old town, a visit to the castle, visits to the churches of La Asunción and San Antonio, the Convent of Las Agustinas or La Lonja – the fish market. Dénia has a wide and varied programme of cultural activities for the locals and the holidaymaker from month to month including theatre, cinema, concerts, and folkdances.
The main festival being Falla, in the middle of March, which is crowned by a procession of huge paper maché dolls, made by the locals, which are then burned in a ceremony at the end. This derives from an old tradition of burning rubbish in the magical belief of purifying body and soul before the summer solstice.
Another festival, which is a must to see for the whole family is the Bous a la Mar, (bulls to the sea) in July. This is a unique spectacle recognised as a fiesta of national tourism interest. A festival where the most daring young people run behind a bull with the aim that one or the other ends up in the sea.
In summer beach bars, locally known as ‘Chiringuitos’ are built on the beach and provide a wonderful setting for enjoying Spanish paella or tapas washed down with a glass of red wine. We have 3 villas in Denia.
