Albufeira and Guia and Area

Albufeira and Guia and Area Villas
The small town of Guia is a lovely place for an Algarve Holiday, relax and enjoy your private pool or explore the local area and fantastic beaches by day, then walk to a selection of restaurants in the evening. What could be better? The majority of our villas are in the Quinta dos Alamos community which is just a few hundred metres from the town centre and its famous Algarvian restaurants. Ramirez is one of our favourites and this is where the Portuguese dish of chicken piri piri was created, there's also superb seafood and grill restaurants, plus an authentic local bar in the square. Although it's 6 kilometres from the coast you have a fantastic selection of beautiful sandy coves within a 10 minute drive, all seem to have impressive rock formations sculpted by the sea. Gale beach is the closest and has two restaurants that look out over the sands so parents can watch their children play on between courses. Evaristo is a beautiful cove with an impressive and stylish fish restaurant, it's adviseable to book, the coves at Coelho and Sao Raphael are also well worth a visit.
To the east of Guia is the famous resort of Albufeira, once a pretty fishing village it's now a large resort taking advantage of the impressive beaches along its stretch of coastline. Although it can get very busy there's excellent shopping, bustling squares and markets and a few very good restaurants, some perched on the cliff tops with fantastic views over the beach and sea.
Within a few kilometres from our villas in Guia is the Algarve Shopping Mall with a huge choice of stores, a food court, supermarket and multi-screen cinema where movies are shown in their original language - mostly English. Across the main road there's a branch of Makro, take your membership card if you have one for access to the superstore. Zoomarine Aquatic Park is a theme park with rides and various attractions with an aquatic theme. There's been a lot of investment recently which is raising standards enormously and it's becoming very popular with families. There's also a dolphin interaction programme where you can swim with the dolphins - this needs to be pre-booked. Several water parks are also within easy reach for a day of thrilling slides and the inevitable splashes.

Albufeira

Albufeira, the tourist capital of the Algarve, is famous for its cliff lined coast with over twenty glorious beaches, its warm Mediterranean climate and the fabulous nightlife. This excellent holiday destination attracts tourists in their thousands during the hot summer months, taking part in various water sports, playing golf or sampling freshly caught fish in one of the local restaurants. Albufeira was once a small fishing village, but the Great Earthquake of 1755 saw most of the old town destroyed, including its castle, but the old town still has a traditional charm, with its winding cobbled streets and white washed houses with terracotta roof tops. The beautiful marina is a short walk from the old town, with its selection of stylish restaurants and bars, as well as a number of designer boutiques. Just a few miles inland the lush green countryside is fresh with almond, fig, orange and pine trees. We have 2 villas in Albufeira.

Alcantarilha

A charming and typical Algarve village with a beautiful church at its heart, surrounded by a warren of narrow cobbled streets that are quite unsuitable to modern traffic, perhaps that has been its saving grace. Just a few miles inland of Armacao da Pera, a busy resort with a fabulous sandy beach, Alcantarilha is bypassed by the vast majority of visitors but what they miss is a little gem. Stop for a while and relax, wander the cobbled streets and enjoy a coffee at one of the typical cafes or better still, stay for lunch.

As well as the pretty village centre, Alcantarllha is particularly well placed to enjoy the peace and quiet of its rural location, but your within a few minutes drive of a wealth of beaches, attractions, shops and restaurants and world class golf. As well as the fabulous beach at Armacao da Pera, the coastline just to the east of here consists of a series of fabulous sandy coves, cut out of the soft cliffs by the unrelenting Atlantic Ocean. It gives rise to some stunning beaches with rock stacks, caves and tunnels that you'll love exploring with the children between here and Albufeira. To the west it's a similar story all the way to Carvoeiro passing Albandeira, Marinha and Carvalho along the coast. We have 1 villas in Alcantarilha.

There's a wonderful choice of stunning coves within a 10 minute drive with beautiful sandy beaches, Gale, Evaristo and Sao Raphael are all worth exploring.
