Many beautiful villas and apartments are located in the hillside resort of Calahonda which is just a fifteen minute drive east of Marbella and twenty minutes from Malaga airport. Car hire in this location is not essential, but would enhance your holiday experience. It would enable you to visit many out of the way attractions and stunning, picturesque villages such nearby Mijas. A local road-train takes you around Calahonda for a small fee making it easy to get around and brings you within approximately five minutes walk of the beach. Supermarkets, banks and shops are located in the El Zoco commercial centre at the foot of Calahonda and the area has an excellent selection of restaurants.
