Carvoeiro and Area

Carvoeiro is one of the best locations along the Algarve coast for family holidays and blessed with more than its fair share of superb beaches. Many have the most stunning backdrops of dramatic cliffs, with beautiful golden sand and solitary stone stacks carved by the sea. Between Ferragudo in the west and Marinha in the east there are over a dozen fantastic and in some cases quite quirky beaches, whilst you can stroll onto the town beach from the centre of Carvoeiro, for many others you'll need to be relatively fit and decent footwear is a must for the descents to the sand. With such a stunning coastline there are plenty of local boatmen willing to give you a tour of the cliffs, natural arches, rock stacks and "secret" sea caves, alternatively you can have a go at big game fishing from the resort.
Carvoeiro's small town centre still retains much of its fishing village atmosphere whilst offering all the facilities you could need whilst on holiday, with a wide range of shops, cafes that spill onto the pavement and plentiful restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets. The area also encompasses many smaller villages with local facilities and some excellent restaurants in stunning locations, even if you are within walking distance of the centre, a car is a must for exploring and finding your own favourite spots. There's good shopping locally and nearby Portimao is famed for its leather goods and shoes.
Sporting pursuits are all well served, for golfers there's the challenging 9-hole course at Vale do Milho just a few minutes from the centre, whilst the Carvoeiro Country club centres on the outstanding courses of Grammacho and Pinta. Near the Carvoeiro Clube is a tennis centre with a number of courts and pro coaching, you can also rent courts in the Rocha Brava resort, for watersports head down to Ferragudo with a selection of activities available in the sheltered waters. There are also opportunities for horse riding, snorkelling is popular and open water diving for the incredible underwater scenery is available, whilst jeep safaris which will certainly get you off the beaten track.

Benagil

Along the stunning coastline heading east from the centre of Carvoeiro is the small village of Benagil, the centre perches high above the coast on two small headlands with stunning views of the sea and access by road between them to the sandy beach making it easily accessible for all. There are several good restaurants in the village and a number of great places to eat within a couple of kilometers, the centre of Carvoeiro is 6km for main shops and supermarkets and a selection of eateries.Whilst Benagil beach is fine and has a small cafe, don't miss Marinha beach to the east and Smuggler's beach near Clube Atlantico and Rocha Brava to the west, both are within 3km drive. Caramujeira

Caramujeira is a small rural village situated just along the coast from Carvoeiro. Close enough to still enjoy all that Carvoeiro has to offer and with the beaches of Benagil and Praia Da Marinhas just short drive away. We have 2 villas in Caramujeira.

Clube Atlantico

Clube Atlantico is a community of beautiful villas with private pools and located to the east of Carvoeiro town centre. On site there's a reception office, a fine restaurant and superb swimming pool that is a hit with children who are sure to make friends there. Close by and within a short walk is the Rocha Brava resort which has tennis courts, a cafe and restaurant and grocery shop, from here you can catch a mini-train that plies the route to and from the centre of Carvoeiro for around a 1 euro, giving you access to all the restaurants without the need to drive. From Clube Atlantico you can descend the steps cut into and through the rock face to Smuggler's beach which is directly below, take a picnic! We have 1 villas in Clube Atlantico.

Clube Carvoeiro

Clube Carvoeiro is an established development, well known for its excellent tennis centre and good quality villas. The villas were designed and built by George De Lagos and are very similar in style. Clube Carvoeiro Tennis Centre is at the top end of the resort, the facilities include, clay courts, artificial grass court, flexi courts, tennis tuition, aerobics, equipped gym, sauna, table tennis, swimming pool, physiotherapist, hairdresser, mini golf, table football, snack bar and a diving school. Spare a bit of time to relax though. Also within easy reach is The Carvoeiro Coutry Club for golf and the small resort of Ferragudo with watersports available in its sheltered waters.

Monte Carvoeiro

Within strolling distance to the centre of Carvoeiro, Monte Carvoeiro is set on a hill above the town and always popular for its convenient location. At the heart of the community is a bustling town centre with a wide choice of restaurants, bars and cafes set around a series of small, pedestrianised squares and popular with familes. There's also a large communal pool for guests staying in the apartments and townhouses with a minimarket and several shops close by. Walk down into the centre of Carvoeiro within a few minutes for a wider choice of amenities and access to the town beach, but save some energy for the walk back up! Quinta da Boa Nova

Boa Nova is a beautifully landscaped complex of residential and holiday apartments, townhouses and villas between Seismarias and the traditional fishing village of Feragudo in the Lagoa area of the Algarve.. There are several restaurants within walking distance or Ferragudo, Carvoeiro and Portimao are all just a short drive away. Quinta do Gramacho

Set in some beautiful rolling countryside and known locally as the Carvoeiro Country Club, the golf courses of Quinta Grammacho and Pinta are relatively new and growing in popularity. The high quality facilities are also complemented by some beautiful villas and townhouses set amongst the fairways. Even if you're not into golf, the setting is truly beautiful and the facilities within the site are a bonus. Located on the northern fringe of Carvoeiro, there's easy access by car to Lagoa and Carvoeiro and the major road network for exploring roundabout.There is a restaurant and bar on site, several others locally and the centre of Carvoeiro is only 5km or a few minutes in the car. Rocha Brava

Just 3km east of the popular holiday resort of Carvoeiro Rocha Brava is an established development with a variety of amenties including 24hr reception, shop, restaurants and tennis club where coaching can be arranged. Carvoeiro is particularly well known for its beaches; the rocky coastline has been eroded over time into a series of stunning sandy coves, breathtakingly beautiful but please access with care and sensible footwear. Vale do Milho

Vale do Milho is perhaps best know for its challenging 9-hole course and perhaps the restaurant and bar in the clubhouse. It's also well known for the well planned and attractive villas, skillfully designed by the celebrated local developer Jorge de Lagos, the layout and inclination of each villa gives the maximum use of the space available on each plot, providing secluded pool and terrace areas, outdoor dining areas with built-in barbecues, roof-top terraces and most have sea views. Whist it is 2 kilometers into the centre of Carvoeiro, many guests staying there enjoy the walk into town and occassionally enjoy the selection of restaurants, cafes and shops along the route. Also within walking distance however, it is a bit hilly, is the stunning Centiannes beach which has a beach restaurant so no need to pack a picnic. We have 4 villas in Vale do Milho.
