Algarve
 Throughout the Algarve, old traditions mingle with more cosmopolitan ways of life in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty. A land of contrasts, of sheer cliffs and rolling hills, deserted beaches and towns of white-walled houses which tumble to the sea. There are long white, fine sand dunes and sandy coves ringed by cliffs of red earth, all along the Algarve coast.
The Algarve has much to offer the discerning traveller. For those looking for activity holidays, the Algarve is one of Europe’s premier golfing destinations whilst the tennis schools offer fantastic facilities. Water sports are second to none with waterskiing, scuba-diving, big game fishing and dolphin trips available at every beach resort.

Getting around the Algarve is relatively easy with a good road system following the coast. Public transport is available and there are many excursions. So even a villa some distance inland can be only a few minutes drive from the nearest towns and beaches.
Portugal is famous for its port wine and in the Algarve many bodegas offer free tasting samples. There is a myriad of cosmopolitan restaurants and cafes offering mouth-watering fish dishes, 'cataplana', delicately flavoured piri-piri cuisine, along with flavours from around the world. Western Algarve  | The Western Algarve has sandy coves, scooped from golden cliffs, luxurious beaches lapped by turquoise waters, fishing villages steeped in centuries of tradition, majestic historic centres and superb golf courses, old and new all set against the backdrop of the richly forested mountains of Monchique and Caldeirao.
