The Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf as half the courses in Andalucia are located in this area and attract golfers from around the world to this wonderful, Mediterranean climate. The region's spectacular, lush beauty is largely due to the vast, majestic mountain ranges providing the back drop to miles of coastline. Marbella and Puerto Banus form the heart of the costal region and have been drawing the rich and famous for many years to the superb holiday accommodation in the area. There is a vast selection ranging from stylish apartments to some of the most beautiful, luxurious villas in Spain. Designer shops, jet-set entertainment and a wealth of superb restaurants abound.
Holidays in the Costa del Sol can be so much more than soaking up the sun on a beach. Flamenco shows, bull fights, water parks and the famous Selwo Safari Park are nearby. Andalucia is rich in culture and day trips are popular to some of the most fascinating, interesting cities in Spain such as Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Ronda all strongly influenced by the Moorish occupation from eighth to fifteenth century. Jerez where sherry originated offers tasting at local bodegas. A short drive into the mountains takes you to the famous white washed Pueblos, delightful villages including Benahavis, famous for its vast selection of great restaurants. The charming coastal town of Tarifa boasts beachside restaurants, kite surfing and boat excursions for whale and dolphin watching. For the adventurous there is a regular ferry to Tangiers in Morocco where hours can be spent haggling for treasures in the souks. Granada's mountain range, the famous Sierra Nevada is a winter skiing destination and snow peaked mountains add to the vast contrasts of this spectacular Andalucian landscape.

Marbella is located in the Costa del Sol, 56km from Malaga airport. It is the most popular holiday destination in Spain due to its beautiful old town, excellent beaches and glamorous reputation. Dozens of superb golf courses are dotted around the region and there is an excellent selection of holiday accommodation. The scenery is stunning with expansive tropical gardens and imposing villas located in hillside and beach locations. In the heart of this area lies the delightful, small town of Estepona, 20km from Marbella. Originally a small fishing village, it has retained most of its original Andalucian charm and identity. A colourful, charming town centre, a beautiful harbour area and wonderful beaches together with a wide selection of restaurants and bars add to the enormous attractions of this region. Nerja and Area

Nerja lies on the eastern most tip of the Costa del Sol in the south of Spain. It is only fifty kilometres away from Malaga airport. Here the mountain meets the sea which probably depicts Nerjas charm. Perched on a cliff with dramatic views down to the sea, it has many different beaches; most of them surrounded by inland rocks, forming a cove. Benalmadena and Area

Benalmadena is on the Costa del Sol, 11km from Malaga airport and stretches from Torremolinos in one direction towards Fuengirola in the other. Full of bustle and noise, Benalmadena sums up all that is great about Costa del Sol. It has a sophisticated marina with over 1000 berths and a variety of bars, restaurants and shops. Benalmadena Pueblo is slightly inland and the old part of the town which is more traditional with cobbled streets, white washed houses and local restaurants.
