El Cotillo and Area

This quiet and peaceful area of the island is very charming. It consists of the sea-side village of El Cotillo with its superb unspoilt beaches and the pretty villages of Lajares and La Oliva, a few kilometres inland. La Oliva the larger of the two was the political centre of Fuerteventura from the 17th to 19th centuries and still retains some attractive and interesting buildings. Lajares is the location of several delightful, country holiday villas and is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Corralejo, the main resort in the north of the island with its fantastic Dune beaches is a short drive away from all of these villages.

El Cotillo

El Cotillo is a typically Canarian village with a very pretty harbour with restaurants and cafes, at its centre. There are two beaches, one at either side of the village. To the south is a long stretch which is very popular with surfers. The lagoon beaches on the northern tip of the village comprise a series of smaller beaches where the pure white sand contrasts dramatically with the azure sea and the lava reef. Within the village of El Cotillo there are several small supermarkets, apartments to rent and a selection of restaurants, specialising in Canarian cuisine. Lajares

Lajares is a pretty, old Canarian village which lies inland between Corralejo on one coast and El Cotillo on the other. The nearest beach is in El Cotillo, approximately a ten minute drive away and a twelve minute drive takes you to the resort in Corralejo. There are several excellent restaurants in this area including an Argentinean Grill, a local tapas bar, a Vegetarian restaurant and a luxurious small hotel . In the centre of the village there is a chemist and a local supermarket with a small museum showing local arts and crafts which are typical to this region. This is a charming village in an excellent location where you can enjoy a very relaxing, tranquil holiday and be near to plenty of activities and beaches. Villaverde

Villaverde is a small traditional village situated in the north of Fuerteventura near to the villages of Lajares and El Cotillo and only a short drive away from the main resort of Corralejo. Both El Cotillo with its white sand lagoons and Corralejo with the equally spectacular dune beaches are within a fifteen minute drive. Within the village are two local supermarkets and three Canarian restaurants/bars. Perfect for those seeking a relaxing holiday in a natural, rural location. We have 5 villas in Villaverde.
