A Submarine Safari

My journey to another dimension.

After we watched a safety video, we boarded the submarine and I was amazed that it is so big inside, it was like

being inside a plane and every seat looks out of an enormous window to see the view. The submarine slowly left the

harbour and I began to take photos of some fish we met along the way but it wasn’t until the sub started to dive

down that things began to change.

The first 50ft revealed a massive blue void with thousands of the most colourful

fish imaginable, some had yellow and black stripes, others were blue with spots. Another 30-40ft down we were

literally sitting on the seabed, which revealed two ship wrecks, looking like long dead ghosts in desperate need of

a make over. I could not believe my eyes when I saw a diver in the sea who was hanging on for dear life to a giant

manta ray, which must have been at least 6ft across. The diver was then followed by a huge kaleidoscope of fish, all

hell bent on getting every morsel of food that he was feeding them to attract them to the sides of the submarine for

us to see.

After the diver left we watched in awe and wonder the silent and breathtaking sights of the ocean. We

came across a valley of stone, with fish living in every corner, crack and cranny imaginable and with beautiful sea

urchins living together with tiny yellow fish in complete harmony. My camera could hardly keep up with all the

sights.

My journey was coming to an end but it left me with an amazing experience and total wonder at life within the ocean.

I hope I can go on the submarine again next time we are on holiday in Lanzarote.

Puerto Calero is the perfect destination for villa holidays. The marina itself has been designed to attract the worlds most glamorous super yachts and experienced sailors. There are numerous exclusive regattas hosted here with many famous sports teams participating. An impressive promenade of bars and international restaurants extend along the marina. Here it is wonderful to sit and enjoy a glass of champagne, whilst watching the boats go sailing by.
