Arrieta, a hidden gem on the east coast of Lanzarote.

In order to experience some of the beautiful, interesting – and delicious - parts of the beautiful island of Lanzarote, Premier Holidays clients generally hire a car for at least part of their villa holidays.

Where to go?? The most beautiful parts of the island can be found outside of the main holiday resorts. Locals often keep the best to themselves through fear of overcrowding in their special and most loved corners of the island. But we want you to have the full experience and go home full of passion for this special island.

Chirango Beach Bar

A delightful place to visit is the small fishing village of Arrieta along the east coast, very near to the famous attractions of Jameos del Agua and the Green Caves. Here there is a lovely golden beach with a beach-bar serving tapas and paella and recommended by both residents and visitors. This is a well-guarded secret on the island. Beach bars are rare as they are not usually permitted and this one offers quality and good value. For small children there is a small play-ground. The village of Arrieta has some excellent fish restaurants. Previous clients of Premier Holidays have enjoyed El Largo, which is on the outskirts of the village overlooking the sea. The restaurant has a small lake with lobsters and huge fish swimming in it – a thrill for the young ones to watch. One of the best known and most popular fish restaurants on the island is in the village, called Amanacer, it is named after the family of brothers who run it. It’s enormous popularity means that it is not always possible to get a table without a wait.

It is worth the short drive north of this village in the direction of Orzola, on the northern tip. You pass astonishingly beautiful white sand beaches with pure aquamarine coloured waters. This sand has blown over from the Sahara Desert and lines the sides of the road for a few kilometres, creating a strong contrast with the black lava beneath.

Premier Holidays offers holiday villas in Lanzarote throughout the island including Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise.
