Kercem
Kercem lies only a short distance from the capital Victoria, yet it remains a secluded village. The church was built between 1846 and 1851. Its foundation stone was laid at the end of the procession on the feast of Saint Gregory on 12th March 1846. It was consecrated on 22nd October 1912, and the village established a parish on 10th March 1885. The nearby hill, 'Il-Mixta', is thought to be the site of the first human habitation of the Maltese islands. The sister village of Santa Lucia has a quaint chapel which was built in 1657.
Kercem
The small Gozitan village of Kercem is just 1.5 kilometres from Victoria, the historical capital of Gozo, and is surrounded by magnificent green scenery. The village has a population of about 1,700. Although there are no restaurants in Kercem itself, you will find a good selection of café, bars and restaurants in Victoria and the nearby seafront village of Xlendi. Victoria, with its magnificent basilica and its labyrinth of tiny streets, is brimming with character. Just off of the main square in Victoria, you can enjoy the Gozo 360 sound and vision presentation and be transported across the island's countryside and the centuries. Xlendi, a small fishing village popular with tourists, is one of the islands ideal spots for bathing and diving. Munxar and its surrounding area is known for its spectacular sunsets over the crystal waters and is ideal for relaxing walks. We have 1 villas in Kercem.
