Malta and Gozo

Malta and Gozo Villas
The islands of Malta and Gozo lie virtually in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. The waters around Malta are widely regarded to be amongst the clearest in the Mediterranean. The island of Malta has a number of sandy beaches, mainly in the northern part of the island; the most popular are at Mellieha Bay, Golden Sands and Armier. In the south the best sandy beach is at Birzebbugia. You’ll find almost every imaginable water-sport from windsurfing to paragliding to water-skiing and offers excellent opportunities for both beginners and experienced open water and cave divers. A short catamaran journey to the north of Malta is the beautiful Italian island of Sicily, where intriguing local culture and history combine with gorgeous surroundings. Malta’s history can be seen in its wealth of archaeological, architectural and artistic treasures .The Islands have several World Heritage sites: the enigmatic, prehistoric temples; Malta’s baroque capital Valetta, a historic and cultural haven founded by the Knights; and the walled, medieval capital, Mdina. The palaces and cathedrals of Valletta and Mdina house some of Europe’s finest treasures.

Gozo is a rural hideaway which offers tranquillity and respite from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. It is steeped with history and culture and has succeeded in retaining much of its traditional way of life. If nightlife is high on your agenda try St Julian's which has plenty to offer, with lively bars, nightclubs, a casino and shops. For traditional entertainment, join in with the local "fiestas" that take place all over the island during the summer. Comino, also reached by boat, is a tiny island between Malta and Gozo. It is completely undeveloped except for one hotel, a few farmhouses and a fortification. Reached by boat from Malta, it is very popular with day visitors and yachts.
