| | Rating:  (as rated by 1 recent visitors) | This charming family house is a traditional Cape style farmhouse with 5 bedrooms, large garden and solar-heated pool in Upper Constantia. The house has a large private garden, private gated pool, jungle gym and trampoline for the children, vine-covered outdoor eating area and a lovely South African indoor-outdoor feel. The house is only available from early December through mid-January each year, for a minimum 2 week stay.
InteriorThis 5 bedroom house is bright and beautifully furnished. The master bedroom has a king size bed, en-suite bathroom and mountain views. There is a smaller second guest bedroom facing the pool with a queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with shower. There are three additional bedrooms with single beds. The fully-equipped kitchen is bright and modern with french doors leading out onto the front garden, an island eating area and an 8 seat dining table. There is satellite television in the living room and master bedroom as well as wireless internet access throughout the house.
ExteriorThis house has a wonderful indoor-outdoor flow with the kitchen and living room opening into the front and back gardens respectively. There is a vine-covered outdoor seating and eating area that faces onto the gated pool and a gas barbecue. There is a wooden jungle gym and a sand pit for the children. The gated solar-heated swimming pool is 6m x 4m and typically 28c - 32c in December/January.
AmenitiesConstantia is the ideal location to take advantage of all that Cape Town has to offer. It has ready access to the False Bay beaches, the Atlantic Beaches, downtown Cape Town, Kirstenbosch Gardens, the Constantia wine estates, and many golf courses within a 15-20 minute drive. Constantia itself is an affluent suburb with many of Cape Town's best restaurants, coffee bars and good shopping. Constantia Village, a substantial shopping village, is only 3 minutes drive from the house. A two-minute walk from the house is part of Constantia's network of "green belts" where you can start your walk up to the mountains or to have lunch at the Alphen Hotel restaurants or the Relais&Chateaux Cellars Hohenhort Hotel.
ServicesThere is a full-time maid/nanny service on weekdays, excluding public holidays. Linen changes every 3-4 days. There is a full interior and exterior alarm system and a private 24 hr security service.
