Villa Paraiso is a wonderful family villa with private pool, set in extensive and enclosed private grounds with wide flat lawns ideal for children to play. The villa is located on the Clube Atlantico estate which has a very good Italian restaurant, a large communal pool and a reception office. It is just a stroll from the Rocha Brava resort with shop, restaurants and tennis centre. The spectacular Smuggler's beach is within walking distance, reached by steps and a series of tunnels through the rock face, whilst Carvoeiro town with its fine beach and superb selection of restaurants is just a short drive away. Its location above the sea almost guarantees a cooling breeze off the Atlantic which keeps the villa cool and aired during the summer.
InteriorThe elegant, split level living and dining room has limited satellite TV with free to view channels, DVD player and CD stereo and patio doors with views over the gardens and the pool which face south. Behind the dining area is a well-equipped kitchen with granite work surfaces. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor, one with a queen-size bed and two with matching twin beds. Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom and the twin rooms have doors to the garden. The master suite is on the upper floor with king-size sleigh bed, TV, DVD and en suite bathroom with bath and shower stall. Doors lead to a large terrace with superb views of the extensive gardens and over to the sea.
ExteriorDoors from the living room lead onto a shaded dining terrace with built-in barbecue looking across the gardens which surround the 8 x 4m swimming pool accessed by integral steps and ladder steps. Villa Paraiso is set in secluded and enclosed gardens with wide flat lawns where children can play and there is also extensive parking inside the entrance gates at the rear.
AmenitiesSet in the sought-after Clube Atlantico resort to the east of Carvoeiro with dramatic views to the sea, the resort features an excellent Italian restaurant, large communal pool, tennis courts and putting green as well as an on site management office. Within a short walk is the neighbouring resort of Rocha Brava beside the Farol lighthouse. Facilities there include an informal restaurant and coffee bar, mini-market and a tennis centre where coaching can be arranged. Carvoeiro is particularly well known for its beaches; the rocky coastline has been eroded over time into a series of stunning sandy coves, breathtakingly beautiful but please access with care and sensible footwear. Many of the beaches also have snack bars for a drink or light lunch. Just below Clube Atlantico there is access to Smuggler's or Carvalho beach, reached by a footpath down the cliffs and a series of tunnels cut through the rock to the beautiful sand below. Within a short drive are Albandeira and the stunning Marinha beach with its distinctive rock stacks, both have snack bars. Over to the west, where the calm waters of the River Arade meet the sea and separate Carvoeiro from Portimao is Ferragudo. Ferragudo is a resort in its own right and offers a wide range of waterports, located about 4km from Carvoeiro centre. Between here and the town are many smaller coves, accessible only on foot (or by boat) namely Currais, Lapa and Paraiso. Close to the town whilst on the Eastern side of town, some the beaches have been a little more developed mainly by hotels, however Almanzor and Centiannes are definitely worth a visit. Like most of the Algarve, golf courses abound, The Carvoeiro Country Club centres around the Grammacho and Pinta courses near to Lagoa, as well as Vale do Milho, a challenging 9-hole course with a great clubhouse. There are tennis centres in Clube Carvoeiro (sister resort to Clube Atlantico) and Rocha Brava and a riding centre, with watersports at Ferragudo to the west. Waterparks are popular in the Algarve, the nearest is Slide and Splash, a smaller park between Lagoa and the Country Club. Several other parks are along the EN 125 heading towards Faro, Aqualand near Guia is amonst the largest. Also worth a visit is the Zoo-Marine park with rides, animal shows and the opportunity to swim with dolphins, located just west of Guia on the EN 125. There are several boat trips available in the Carvoeiro area, exploring the fantastic coastline and stopping at exotic beaches. Perhaps the most memorable day out and under sail is aboard Santa Bernada - a replica caravelle, which departs from the old sardine pier in Portimao on weekdays.
ServicesFor guests staying longer than one week there is a weekly maid service.
