This magnificent, architect designed villa is in a superb position and commands some of the most breathtaking views on the island. It overlooks endless miles of sea, the neighbouring islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura and the twinkling lights of the resort light up the night sky. This marvellous villa benefits from air-conditioning throughout, has a spacious, fully fitted annexe bungalow in the grounds and a large, heated swimming pool with an electrically operated, rigid, pool cover.
InteriorThis beautiful, modern villa is extremely spacious and has been elegantly furnished to a very high standard. With colourful, original artwork and light beaming in from every angle it provides a luxurious, serene setting for a truly memorable holiday. The many, huge picture windows throughout the villa each frame a different, stunning vista from cactus gardens to the ocean, mountains and the resort. The regular ferry to Fuerteventura sails by and there is the nearly constant, charming sight of sailing and fishing boats on the water. The villa has the great benefits of air-conditioning throughout, an ADSL connection and a telephone which is enabled to receive calls and make outgoing calls to the villa management and emergency services. Villa Sonrisa has a superb open plan living and dining room with a wall mounted plasma TV, doors to a covered terrace and a picturesque, lit, internal garden. A guest cloakroom and toilet leads off this area. There is a separate, modern, well-equipped kitchen with patio doors and a utility room with a washing machine and drying area. The villa has three attractive bedrooms in the main house reached by steps from the living room. The large master suite has a wardrobe area, a generous bedroom with a double bed from where one looks straight out to sea and patio doors to a furnished terrace. It has an en-suite bathroom with an extra-sized bath and a walk-in shower. There are two bedrooms with twin beds, patio doors and excellent views. These share the use of a full family bathroom.
Annexe: The annexe is a spacious and well furnished bungalow in the garden and is accessed by steps near the swimming pool. It has superb views from both rooms, a bright and comfortable living room with a TV, a dining area, patio doors to a large terrace and air-conditioning. Within this room there is a kitchenette with a two ring hob, a microwave, a fridge and a kettle. There is an attractive bedroom with a double bed, patio doors to the terrace and an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower. The annexe will be available for parties of over six adults and one child. For an extra charge it can be made available for smaller parties.Please note that the annexe cannot be reserved separately and can only be booked in conjunction with the villa. Villa Sonrisa can sleep 8 people in the existing bedrooms and a further 2 children under 12 on fold-a-way beds.
ExteriorThe villa is set in extensive grounds planted with palm trees and sub-tropical plants. It is in an elevated position with Canarian lava walls separating the terraced layers of gardens, all with absolutely breathtaking views. There is an extensive sunbathing terrace with sun loungers, which surrounds the beautiful 10x4 metre, electrically and solar heated swimming pool. This has the unusual feature of an electrically operated, rigid pool cover. Patio doors from the living and dining rooms lead onto a covered patio which has a large dining table and chairs, a gas barbecue and provides an idyllic venue for al fresco dining and is romantically lit at night. Outside the kitchen there is a cosy seating area where one can relax and enjoy the views. The entire villa is accessed through an electrically operated gate and a flight of steps to the front door. Due to low walls on the property young children should be supervised.
AmenitiesThe villa is conveniently located a few minutes drive from the golden, sheltered and sandy Playa Flamingo beach, which slopes gently out to sea and is ideal for young children. A superb, sea front promenade runs 8.5 kilometres from one end of the resort to the other and is lined with bars, sea food restaurants and shops. It passes the old harbour area, from where regular ferries to Fuerteventura and a variety of excursions depart, including a water taxi to the outstandingly lovely and un-spoilt Papagayo beaches, famous throughout Spain for their golden sands and clear waters. The small, Playa Blanca beach is located in the middle of the village and is overlooked by typical, Canarian restaurants. For children of different age groups, Kikoland has a multitude of fun on offer, including an amphitheatre, a sports area, a football club, animation, organised activities and a bar from which parents can supervise. The neighbouring Playa Dorada is the resorts largest beach, with sea front restaurants and water sports. The sophisticated, attractively laid out Puerto Rubicon Marina is reached via the promenade, or is a short drive from all our holiday villas. It is the location of a twice weekly market, a shopping centre with a bowling alley and many exclusive, designer boutiques, bars, cafes, restaurants and several superb marine excursions and activities. These include game fishing, a sailing school, yacht charter, deep sea diving, a catamaran excursion and sea-front tennis courts. It is worth renting a car, even if only for a few days, to see some of the fabulous sights that Lanzarote is famous. The fascinating and colourful Salinas de Janubio, the salt flats, which to this day help to de-salinate the islands water. The charming village of El Golfo is located on the south west coast of the island and boasts the most magnificent sunsets on the island. Watch these from one of the delightful fish restaurants which line the volcanic sea front and go for a short walk to El Charco de los Clicos, a small green lake providing a dramatic contrast to the surrounding black sand and lava. Car RequirementsA car is considered essential for this villa as due to its hillside position it is not easily reached by the elderly, or those with walking difficulties.
