This charming villa is a recently converted Portuguese finca and offers superb, spacious accommodation of a very high standard. It is set in beautifully maintained, mature gardens with a private swimming pool. A delightful internal courtyard and a large roof terrace provide additional areas in which to enjoy this marvellous climate. Located in the sought after Clube Carvoeiro community Villa Poco is within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants and bars in Monte Carvoeiro. It is 2 kilometres to the village of Carvoeiro, with its sandy cove, blue waters and beach cafes. The beautiful Praia Grande beach at Ferragudo and the popular Splash and Slide Water Park at Lagoa are only a ten minute drive from the villa. The famous Gramacho Pestana Golf Resort offers world class facilities and is located just three kilometres from the villa.
InteriorThis excellent, single storey villa has been decorated using a mixture of modern and traditional styles, which gives it an extremely light and airy feel. It is spacious and provides very good quality accommodation for a restful holiday. The large, L-shaped living room has a raised open-plan dining area, a fireplace, patio doors at both ends and a high sloping ceiling. There is a separate, well-appointed kitchen with a breakfast table and access to a utility room. Villa Poco has two attractive bedrooms with fitted wardrobes. One bedroom has a double bed consisting of twin mattresses, patio doors to the covered terrace and a large, en-suite shower room decorated with traditional local tiles. The second bedroom has a double bed, patio doors to the pool terrace and an en-suite bathroom. Patio doors set in a wall of glass lead to the internal, open aired courtyard, adding an exceptional feature to this property. There is a separate guest cloakroom and the villa is equipped with under floor heating throughout.
ExteriorSeveral patio doors lead onto a deep, covered terrace which provides shade for al fresco dining while looking out over the beautiful, colourful and tranquil garden. A large sun bathing terrace surrounds the 10x5 metre swimming pool which is entered by ladder steps. The roof terrace is accessed by an external staircase.
AmenitiesThis remarkable holiday villa is located in the popular resort of Carvoeiro Clube, with its fabulous tennis facilities. It is ideally located for exploring the beautiful Algarve and it is only a twenty minute walk downhill to the cosmopolitan village of Carvoeiro with a picturesque cove beach, bars and restaurants, offering traditional and international cuisine is a short drive away. Carvoeiro is particularly well known for its beaches, the rocky coastline has been eroded over time into a series of stunning sandy coves, breathtakingly beautiful but please access with care and sensible footwear. Many of the beaches also have snack bars for a drink or light lunch. Over to the west, where the calm waters of the River Arade meet the sea and separate Carvoeiro from Portimao is Ferragudo. Ferragudo is about 4km from Carvoeiro centre and one of the typical fishing villages in the Algarve which still retains its orginal charm. Here you will find one of the best beaches in the area, Praia Grande, with a couple of beach bars that overlook Portimao. This bustling town has a marina with a variety of excursions, including boat rentals, scuba-diving, jet-skiing, dolphin and whale spotting. There are tennis centres in Clube Carvoeiro and Rocha Brava and a riding centre and watersports at Ferragudo to the west. Waterparks are popular in the Algarve with the nearest being Slide and Splash, a smaller park between Lagoa and the Country Club. Several other parks are along the EN 125 heading towards Faro. Also worth a visit is the Zoo-Marine park with rides, animal shows and the opportunity to swim with dolphins, located just west of Guia on the EN 125. There are several boat trips available in the Carvoeiro area, exploring the fantastic coastline and stopping at exotic beaches. Perhaps the most memorable day out and under sail is aboard Santa Bernada - a replica caravelle, which departs from the old sardine pier in Portimao on weekdays.
ServicesFor this villa there is a maid service three times a week and a mid week towel change. For guests staying longer than one week there is also a weekly linen change. The under floor heating is extra and charged locally. For guests arriving after 10 p.m. there is a €25 charge to be paid locally.
Car RequirementsA car is recommended but not essential. The nearest supermarket requires a car but there are readily available taxis in the area.
