Ideally located among the shady cobbled streets of the delightful village of Armeni, Villa Vasolios is a stylish villa with a contemporary feel set among pleasant, private gardens and sunbathing terraces. With a selection of local tavernas and cafes serving traditional Cretan cuisine and delicacies only a short stroll away and the delights of this beautiful area of Crete easily accessible by car, this holiday villa is the perfect base from which to enjoy a memorable family holiday.

Interior

A broad archway divides the living space into a comfortable seating area and dining/kitchen area with two sets of double patio doors leading out onto the terraces. The seating area has a large, open fireplace for cosy autumn evenings. The modern, fully equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar and opens onto the dining area, creating an ideal space in which to enjoy relaxed family evenings dining in. The villa has three comfortable bedrooms. On the ground floor is a twin bedrooom with en suite shower room and on the first floor is a further twin and a double bedroom which share a full family bathroom. There is heating throughout the villa making this an ideal holiday destination all year round.

Exterior

The sunbathing terraces and gardens of this holiday villa offer a secluded space in which to relax and enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine. The private, 8 x 4m ecological swimming pool is accessed by roman and integral steps and is surrounded by a sunbathing terrace furnished with sunloungers and patio furniture. There is an outdoor shower. The garden areas have been well laid out and planted with aromatic citrus trees which provide shady areas to enjoy the soothing music of birdsong and the trickling waters of the small fountain. A separate dining terrace has an in-built, traditional Cretan barbecue and dining furniture and is an ideal place for the family to enjoy long, lazy evenings sampling the excellent local wines and cuisine.

Amenities

The historic village of Armeni centres around its main street shaded by trees and home to a selection of local tavernas and shops selling local cheeses, yoghurt and other delicacies. The bustling town of Rethymno, with its range of international restaurants, golden beaches and historic Venetian harbour is only 8km away. This area of Crete is noted for its sports and activities both on and offshore, and there is ample opportunity enjoy a day on the azure seas that lap these shores water-skiing or boating, or to enjoy a day hiking, biking or horse-riding amongst the spectacular scenery. The area is dotted with villages belonging to a bygone age, where sheep and goats take their place on the cobbled streets and visitors can glimpse a simpler way of life not often found amidst the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
